The Impact Of Competitive Analysis On Web Design & How To Perform It Properly [DesignRush QuickSights] – Yahoo Finance

73% of companies invest in web design to gain a competitive edge. DesignRush gathered tips from web design experts on how to do a competitive analysis for effective web design.
MIAMI, Nov. 24, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — There are now 1.13 billion websites online, as per Netcraft's November 2022 Web Server Survey. And yet, there are only 10 positions on the first page of Google. For 73% of companies, Adobe reveals, web design is key to standing out from the competition.
DesignRush, a B2B marketplace connecting businesses with agencies, leveraged its 16,000-agencies-strong network for quick insights – or "QuickSights" – on the importance of competitive analysis and how to achieve an effective web design that will rank well.
1) ANALYZE COMPETITORS' FEATURES & CHOOSE ONES THAT WILL ADD VALUE
Consumr Buzz CEO Jeffrey Diebner recommends that businesses examine competitors' top features carefully and choose only those that will work for them.
"One of the most important aspects of a successful online business is staying ahead of your competition. This is why competitor analysis is so important in the early stages of web design," said Diebner. "However, finding useful features on your competitor's websites can be a challenge. Of course, you want the best features that everyone is using. But instead of thinking you need them all, make a list of the ones that you feel can provide significant value to your business and weigh the pros and cons of each one. Be diligent with this step."
2) RUN AN IN-DEPTH COMPETITIVE AUDIT ON SELECT COMPETITORS
Nika Agency CEO and Founder Ali Tassavor shares his agency's methodology for auditing competitors to find opportunities.
"We always select a few competitors and audit them for their approach to branding, messaging, and website design/functionality, as well as an approach to content — using our 5C methodology: clarity, consistency, compelling, competitiveness, and credibility," said Tassavor. "We use this process as a starting point to find opportunity spaces. Finding opportunity space is the easiest way to differentiate yourself from the competitor."
3) FIND AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT
According to Simplixi® CEO Ahmed Elghobashy, companies should also look for opportunities to improve based on what competitors are doing better.
"Competitive analyses are great, not just because they provide useful knowledge about the strengths of your competitors but also for helping you understand what you do well and what areas need improvement," said Elghobashy. "They can help you make strategic decisions that improve user experience on your website and ultimately give people a reason to choose you over other brands."
4) USE GAP ANALYSIS TO FIND OPPORTUNITIES FOR SEO
For Nicholas Noe, chief of marketing & design at NB Media Solutions, their company uses GAP analysis to identify ways to optimize a website.
"The most important competitive analysis tool we use is a GAP analysis from one of our various software applications. A GAP analysis allows us to create big opportunities for SEO for our clients and transform web designs with vital accompanying on-page text."
5) IDENTIFY BEST PRACTICES FROM THE TOP COMPETITORS
Bizcope Founder and CEO Nahid Hasan says that if you want the best web design, you have to learn from the best web designs.
"If you want to be the best, you have to learn from the best," said Hasan. "So a great web design will always take into account competitive analysis. Competitive analysis helps identify opportunities and potential areas that a web design can bring. It can be used to benchmark against similar websites to understand what features and functionality they offer and how this compares to your own website. This can involve studying their web design, their user experience such as CTA buttons and colors, fonts and spaces, copywriting and visuals, forms and lead magnets, testimonials and credentials, mobile and tablet views, and of course, their SEO. By understanding what your competitors are doing well, you can make your website even better."

Intel Corp's (NASDAQ: INTC) Irish operation doled out three months' unpaid leave to up to 2,000 staff as part of cost-cutting measures. Intel offered the workers at its manufacturing division unpaid leave as part of a "voluntary time off" program, the Business Post reports. "Voluntary time off programs allow us an opportunity to reduce short-term costs and offer employees attractive time off options," Intel told Reuters, adding that manufacturing talent represents a critical element of its busin
The attorneys general of California, Illinois and Washington D.C. asked a federal court on Thursday for a preliminary injunction that would prevent Albertsons Companies Inc, which is being purchased by rival Kroger Co, from paying a $4 billion dividend to shareholders. The state officials said in a court filing that Kroger, which does not yet own its rival, agreed with Albertsons that Albertsons would pay the dividend at the beginning of the merger review. "Payment of the special dividend, in conjunction with the restrictions defendants' merger agreement imposes on Albertsons' ability to borrow money, likely will hamper Albertsons' ability to compete with Kroger and other grocers, leaving shoppers facing higher prices, worse service, less innovation, closure of their local Safeway or other Albertsons supermarket, or all of the above," they said in the filing.

A U.S. judge on Friday dismissed an indictment against Meng Wanzhou, the chief financial officer of Huawei Technologies Co, formally ending a criminal sanctions case that strained U.S.-China relations. Meng, whose father Ren Zhengfei founded Huawei and is the telecommunications company's chief executive, entered an agreement with U.S. prosecutors last year for the case to be dismissed four years after her December 2018 arrest. Prosecutors accused Meng of bank fraud and other crimes for misleading HSBC Holdings Plc and other banks about Huawei's relationship with a company that operated in Iran.

Walt Disney Co (NYSE: DIS) worked with consulting firm McKinsey & Co in recent months to centralize control of major spending decisions, triggering an uproar from top creative executives at the entertainment giant. Disney’s CFO, Christine McCarthy, spearheaded the wide-ranging cost-cutting
CHICAGO (Reuters) -Delta Air Lines has offered a 34% cumulative pay increase to its pilots over three years in a new contract, demonstrating the bargaining power aviators are enjoying in a short-staffed industry with booming travel demand. If the deal is approved by Delta pilots, it is widely expected to act as a benchmark for contract negotiations at rivals United Airlines and American Airlines. Delta pilots will get a raise of at least 18% raise on the date the contract is signed, another 5% after one year, 4% after two years and 4% after three years, according to a draft contract seen by Reuters.
If completed, the deal would be worth billions of dollars in revenue and mark a victory for the U.S. plane maker over its European rival Airbus.
Wells Fargo & Co. has reportedly cut hundreds of workers of its mortgage unit as interest rates dry up home refinancings across the U.S. The San Francisco-based bank (NYSE: WFC) made the cuts across the country on Thursday, according to Bloomberg, which cited people close to the situation who asked not to be identified. Wells Fargo did not file a WARN notice with the state, California Employment Development Department officials told me, which it normally would have been required to do had the bank laid off more than 50 people from its headquarters or other locations in the state. The bank’s home mortgage division is based in Des Moines, Iowa, but WARN notices filed there on Thursday only identify eight employee layoffs in that state.
